The City of Bellingham is a medium sized city (2006 pop. about 74,770) located in Northwest Washington, about one and half hours north of Seattle and about an hour south of Vancouver, BC. Specifically, it is located at [WWW]48°45′1″N 122°28′30″W Bellingham's elevation ranges from sea-level at the bay to ~450ft on Alabama Hill and 1000-1500ft around The Mountains around Bellingham and enjoys a mild climate with temperatures ranging from low 40s in the winter to the mid 70s in the summer.

Demographically, Bellingham has been lauded as one of the most activist cities in Washington and is known for its liberal, college-town atmosphere. Bellingham has recently been rated by Kiplinger's Personal Finance as one of the top retirement cities in the country.
